Introduction

The nurse regardless of the position taken by it, whenever you're in front of a team to develop and supervisory function, if enabled, will assume leadership. According to Maxwell (2006), the true leader is followed by pleasure and confidence and can increase their influence by understanding the levels of leadership. Today, we can observe the various functions which are answered by staff nurses and also exercising leadership, a fact that makes the same oversight of the work process in their units (John, 2007). The Emotional Intelligence characteristics including self-awareness, self-discipline, motivation, empathy and can also be used by nurses and social skills through which may have different approaches with teams.

The servant leadership is the essence of a nurse, whose mission is to serve mankind customers in an effective manner. The nurses actively engage in the art of serving well and helping patients' satisfaction. The servant leader has a mission to provide guidance to its employees or subordinates within the organization. The leader earns the right to lead the groups naturally without conflicts, disputes or pressures.

On the other hand, many leaders are placed in organizations and covered up by the hierarchy. They place themselves as superior and impose their ideas and opinions on their followers, subordinates and dependents. Therefore, this type of leadership style has no ideal profile of a good leader and end up frustrated and burning talents (Keith, 2008).

Most recent studies reveal that the most appropriate way of appreciative model of leadership is the servant leadership style. In this model, the members of a group are all related to each other and are influenced by the leader. But at the same time the influence is in the way of leading and behaving. As a result, it is the best leadership style to be utilized in nursing practices (Travis, 2007). Leadership is a creation between the needs of individuals and groups that comes from a continuous negotiation of roles and responsibilities. Leadership can be held also by all members of the group depending on the different situations.

There are various keys elements to operationalize servant leadership. Servant leadership is clear because the roles are clarified from the moment in which the groups are formed. It is flexible and tends to support the collaboration among all group members. It provides coordination of the capabilities and contributions of all members. The approach is realistic, which derive the data from practical experiences and environment. The point of view of the group is unified with the help of Servant leadership model. Furthermore, it is task-oriented approach along with the achievement of objectives in an efficient manner.

It improves the capabilities of individuals, and is concerned with the quality of the relationships between the members of the group. Moreover, the style favors the capability to control conflicts among the team members.
