Asian Americans Experience and Contribution

Introduction

Asian Americans are a diverse collection of distinct ethnic groups, the largest among them Chinese, Filipino, and Asian Indian. Asian immigration to the United States consists of two periods. The first began in the mid-nineteenth century with the immigration of Chinese manual laborers. Exclusionary measures beginning in 1882 halted further Chinese immigration and provided an opening for Japanese workers to replace them iii the early part of the twentieth century. The U.S. is trying to build through the growing interdependence of the Chinese economy into the global liberal model, integrating the Chinese stock and other markets. Full liberalization of the Chinese currency (Yuan) in the American version would allow Washington to speed up the process.

US-Korea Relations

United States is committed to maintaining a military presence on the Korean despite the cuts in defense spending and denounced what he called the dangerous and destabilizing nuclear weapons program of North Korea (Chan, 2007). This is only to ensure to the safety of Koreans and overall global peace. During her visit to South Korea, Hillary Clinton is scheduled to meet with several South Korean authorities to discuss bilateral relations between Seoul and Washington, climate change and reconstruction ...
