ABSTRACT

In this study we try to explore the concept of “Baby boomers” in a holistic context. The main focus of the research is on “Baby boomers” and its relation with “housing and health care”. The research also analyzes many aspects of “Baby boomers” and tries to gauge its effect on “housing and health care”. Finally the research describes various factors which are responsible for “Baby boomers” and tries to describe the overall effect of “Baby boomers” on “housing and health care”.

Baby Boomers comprise the largest generation ever born in the United States. They grew up in an age of economic growth, sexual freedom, space exploration, rock and roll music, and the explosion of television. From 1952 to 1960 Americans purchased 46 million televisions. As a result, Baby Boomers tend to be optimists, but since there were so many joining the work force at one time, they are also competitive - believing hard work and long hours were the way to get ahead. Baby Boomers in business were part of the first revolutions in business speed and communication - including the first computers, word processing and FedEx.

After the Second World War, the United States and many Western countries experienced an exponential growth in birth rates. This is due to two factors: first, I had to do with the optimism that was generated after the victory over Nazi-fascist countries of the axis (Italy, Germany, and Japan), but mainly thanks to the rise of " Welfare State ", i.e. a state that helped in a practical way to obtain employment (both men and women), as well as home loans and cars (Kevin Arnold, the protagonist of the series" The Wonder Years "is a faithful exponent of this generation). (Culbertson, 2002)

Historically, the "baby boomers" have attracted the attention of demographers, politicians, marketers, sociologists or psychologists. Therefore, it is not surprising that some months ago, the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) conducted a comprehensive study, which included telephone interviews, surveys, focus groups, and other evaluation mechanisms, on the prospects future of Baby Boomers.

One of the reasons why it was chosen to analyze the field is the fact that Baby Boomers are currently sixties, and are close to retirement. (Daylor, 2006)

Meanwhile, sixty percent of adults have much faith about their capabilities to achieve adequately prepared to face their future, and only 23 percent believed they would have "some difficulty" in economics during ...
