“Those guys should be whacked”, said Jumbo.

“Which ones? The peasants or the guys killing them?”

“The latter, not because of the dead peasants. There's always been dead peasants but they're nuking the cloud forests to plant this stuff.”

“The peasants would do that too if they had half a chance,” said Mike.

“Sure, but they don't have half a chance.”

“You're taking sides.”

“There aren't any sides as such.”

The past tense is defined as:- a verb tense that expresses states or actions in the past

The present tense is defined as:- a verb tense that expresses states or actions at the time of speaking

The future tense is defined as:- a verb tense that expresses states actions in the future

I would use the past tense when I am telling about actions I did in the past. I would make use of the present tense when describing actions that I am doing currently. The future tense would be used when I am telling about actions that will be done in the future.

Question 1.3

Being fluent with the English language is a necessity if one wants to succeed in the fast paced and technologically advanced world of today. I felt that not having a thorough understanding of the English language was becoming a hindrance in my way of success. English is known as the international language and everywhere we go, we see that people how to speak and write in the English language, besides their national language. It is very important to realize the growing need of learning the English language. I felt I was lacking behind in many areas just because I was not fluent with conversing and writing in English. At school, I have faced many problems due to my lack of hold on the English language. I often used to get low grades in courses not because of lack of knowledge but because of lack of ability to express (Barber et. al, 2012, pp. 116).

I realized that being fluent in the English language can help me to a great extent and it will also improve my grades. That is when I decided to take this course of English language. I felt that improvising my English language skills will add to my positive points and will help me in achieving better grades. Knowing the language well is very important for being able to converse and write better and I hope to achieve these goals by the time I complete this course. Being fluent with the language will add to my capabilities and make me feel more confident.
