Atheism

Introduction

Atheism in the modern sense is a collective term, combining different belief systems, built on the rejection of belief in the existence of personified God. It is important to note that more stringent and/or detailed definitions, as a rule, do not describe the diversity of belief systems, characterized by some as an atheist. For example, many people describe themselves as atheists may believe in the existence of some unproven (but, in their opinion, provable in the future) entities and phenomena. In fact, without exception, people believe in something that they personally can not check, but it is important to distinguish between two meanings of the word faith is a blind faith and religious belief as a reasonable assumption. Moreover, Atheism is in a broad sense, non-belief in gods or other supernatural beings. In a narrower sense, atheism is the position that supports the non-existence of deities. Some define it as a doctrine or position that rejects theism, in its most general form is the belief in the existence of at least one deity (Maritain, 1949).

McCloskey the atheism has characterized by outright denial of the existence of gods. At first he began to argue against the existence of gods, finding explanations sociological, psychological or historical to theism, the existence of other gods. With the development of science and human knowledge, there were many authors who denounced the irrelevance of belief in deities, one of the most important exponents of this complaint. However, this is not the case as his believes of God's non-existence is wrong (Findlay, 2003).

When it comes to the possibility of the existence of God, the Bible says that there are people that have seen enough evidence but have suppressed the truth about God. However, here then are some reasons that support the existence of God. Thus, throughout history, in all cultures of the world, people have been convinced that there is a God. Could one say with any degree of confidence, that all these people have been wrong? Billions of people representing different conformations sociological, intellectual, emotional and educational believe. All reached the same conclusion that there is a Creator, a God to be worshiped (James, 1971).

Answer 2

McCloskey argued that the cosmological argument was an argument from the existence of the world, as we know it. He stated that believing in an uncaused first cause of the universe is a problem because nothing about our universe forces us to that conclusion. As mentioned by McCloskey the cosmological proof says that there must be a first cause, namely God. But there is no reason why a first cause would be something like God, or why it should be assumed. However, be a cause to explain an event, and explain an event is to account for how it happened. But to posit any way of first cause does not explain anything, just place an entity for which there is no explanation at the beginning of the causal chain. So the cosmological proof is not strong (Findlay, ...
