Avant Garde and Kitsch

Introduction

The article first introduces a comparison between two life forms: a closed shape that produces meaning by repetition of forms; an open form which proscribes the contrary repetition and novelty claims. It thus reveals two modes of cultural strategies, where one can predict the shapes which are stabilized in the system, while the other, rejecting any system, allows no prediction. Especially, the categorical principle can observe the intimate work values ??within the cultural strategies. The names "kitsch" and "vanguard" are indeed sanctions by which an observer evaluates two ways to produce meaning by linking aesthetic judgments and veridictory and a value judgment, that is to say by asking all matters of beauty, truth and good, as embodied in the forms. It seems interesting from this assessment to reach the notion of aesthetic judgment and understand what combination of values ??is thus sanctioned. With kitsch, the coincidence of the commonly accepted good and beautiful seems true for example need to be revisited, beauty or ugliness hiring strategies and epistemic veridictory special.

If everything makes us "from" kitsch kinder and more convenient access systems because it subjects to the analysis, it is important anyway to preserve the principle categorical which is expected in addition it can break some resistance to the forefront and clarify the operation of the interior. The effort heuristic must not lose sight of the semiotic: indeed, if the category / kitsch versus advanced / founded an axiology, our ambition is not to argue on this polarity, the status of work of art to give this song to the forefront and deny the kitsch. In this sense, even if this contribution is to be retained disciplinary, it is not a conference where aesthetics would be discussed the definition of the work but a conference of general semiotics is interesting to sense objects designated as exemplary because they reflect the movement of values ??within cultural strategies, the distinction to be marked between kitsch and cultural strategies that produce them.

Specifically, because it takes seriously modest and familiar objects, which may embody no better than any other in our everyday world, this conference supports the sociological vocation of semiotics, always anxious to examine the meaning in a society, a culture.

Kitsch

According to Greenberg and De Duve, kitsch and the avant-garde appear concomitantly, and are opposing reactions to industrialization, which threatens both the art and craft. While kitsch remains committed to the craft and the world of the campaign, the vanguard instead aims to restore the reality of industrial and urban of the time. Moles takes the same premise but considering kitsch as a result of responses to outbreaks of the avant-garde through the twentieth century by connecting the different movement of modernity (Eiffel, Horta, in particular) while it feeds on Proposals of Romanticism, for example (Bernstein, 2008).
