Babies and Toddler Development

This assignment is based on the analysis of different development stages in the life of babies and toddlers. For this purpose, a video named Baby It's You, has been analyzed. The actions of babies, shown in the video, have been observed and analyzed in order to understand different stages of development. This assignment consists of two sections including observation and analysis.

Observation

When watching the video Baby Its You, I became interested in several characters shown. The video helped in understanding different developmental stages of a child as well as different body movements. One of the characters shown in the video is Taffy. Taffy is a seven to nine months old baby girl. In the video, the baby is attempting to crawl. The child is making an effort to reach a tower of building blocks. The blocks are present in a bedroom setting. Taffy is sitting near to building blocks. When attempting to reach blocks, the baby bit her lower lip and looked around the surroundings. After this, Taffy started to wriggle her toes. Slowly and gradually, the baby reached near to blocks. The baby then placed them in front of her.

Miranda is also a baby shown in the video. The age of Taffy and Miranda are almost the same. Miranda is making an effort to move forward. Miranda is in a crawl position. The baby is biting lower lip. The eyes of the baby are fixed on the pathway in front of her. In an attempt to move forward, the baby rocked back and forth. However, the movement did not move Miranda and she failed to reach close to her destination. In the video, a baby Javier has also been shown. The baby, Javier, is responding to the voice of the mother by kicking and moving around the womb. The video is showing how the baby is becoming familiar with the voice of mother. The baby also responded towards the voices of the mother during labour pain as well. The adrenaline of the woman's body rushed in order to force the baby out of the system. After coming out, the baby cried and the umbilical cord was cut. The baby was then handed over to the mother and started breathing independently.

The mother of the baby was establishing a connection with the child before the birth. The baby started getting familiar with the voice of the mother. Therefore, when the mother was talking to someone, the child responded by making certain moves. The video has also shown that the Dad was sticking his tongue out and the baby copied what the dad was doing.

The second child, Holly cannot control her whole. The brain cells of the baby are flexible which is crucial for development of a twelve months old baby. Another child is feeling distressed.
