Introduction

Squat is referred to as a complex body workout practiced in training sessions of strength for strengthening muscles of thighs, hips, bottoms, bones and quads. These workouts have significant affect on the strength and size of legs, and bottoms. The squad related exercises have immense effect on abdomen, lower and upper back, shoulders and, truck and costal muscles. It is necessary to follow the adequate form and posture while workout in order to avoid injuries related to squad training. The most common injuries that may occur are more related to knees and lumbar spine (Rippetoe, M. 2007, pp. 8).

The back squat involves exercising with a heavy bar holding near neck and from the back of the body. Squat critics have associated 20% of injuries of all squat related injuries to neck and lower back. These injuries are result of heavy weightlifting and incorrect form of squatting. Spinal injuries are usually result of stress and continuous confrontation on back. Shoulders and lumbar discs. These injuries actually compress trunk and spinal column. There are many types of injuries that may result from weightlifting workout and squat exercises such as strains, disc slippage, strain, or spinal vertebrae. The strain is a resultant factor of an unexpected jerking in spinal cord and back. Disc slippage and vertebrae occur as an outcome of inadequate squat exercise or form. The factors that increase the stress and pressure on spine due to forward leaning affect the discs of spine and make them slip out of its alignment. It can get even worst if cause back fractures and muscle damages (Smith, J., 2011).

There are some methods available to treat back pains and injuries of squatting. The most widely used interventions are spinal rehabilitation and physiotherapy in order to combat with back pain revitalizing the mobility and motion of the muscles. As per various researches conducted by University of Wisconsin Spine Center, physiotherapy and active handling to reduce pain and increase motion of these muscles can treat back pains due to injuries in spinal cord. It can also be treated by pain reduction injections and back braces. Furthermore, physical therapy includes smooth exercises, training, joint deployment and aquatic therapy (Smith, J., 2011).

Strains occur as a result of overburdening and stressing a muscle, particularly back in the given case. It is also known as pulled muscle. Sprain is same as of strain. It may occur when athlete uses heavy bars for back squat while doing lower back exercises.

Tissue Damage

The critical damage to tissue is caused to the lower back tissues, whose muscle fibers are torn in the lower back area; furthermore, it may also lead to create strain in more lumbar muscles.
