All the significant personalities that have been witnessed in history have a few traits common in them; and the most outstanding trait of their charismatic personalities was the incessant zeal and zest to bring betterment in not only the people around them but also their respective societies.

Benjamin Franklin

Benjamin Franklin is one of the most revered personalities in America. He is renowned to be known as one of the founders of the country. The significance of Benjamin Franklin rests in the diverse facets of his personality. His talents or endowments were not confined to politics only; he was a learned person, he had a strong grip on literature, music, scientist, statesman, inventor, a diplomat, civic activist and much more.

As discussed earlier the personality of Franklin encompassed numerous talents and abilities and amongst those abilities was his splendid efforts in the field of science. His inventions themselves are the manifestation of his tremendous abilities. The imbedded curiosities in Franklin regarding the things and matters around him played a pivotal role in exposing the inventor that had resided within him (Brands, P.68).

However, the real debate occurs, as to what made Benjamin Franklin attain the title of the Renaissance man. Since childhood Franklin was prone to diligence. All the inventions and the accomplishments achieved by him were the consequence of the incessant curiosities that accompanied his mind all through his childhood. If it were not because of his incessant vigor to exercise and practice his hidden capabilities, neither would he be able to successfully continue his brother's newspaper during his childhood, nor would he be able execute all the scientific inventions he made all though his life. It was his scholarly and scientific accomplishments that earned him the title of Renaissance man; mainly because he acquired more than superficial knowledge, especially during an era when knowledge was severely limited (Fisher, P. 230).

Among his accomplishments are his achievements in the field of bio science, the successful remodelling of ships, Lighting Rod, Franklin stove And Odometer. However, it is not his scientific achievement which earned him such reverence, but also his significant contributions in the field of politics and liberation of the nation.
