Introduction

Evidence of the inspiration of the Bible are numerous and convincing. The Bible is the Word of God directly inspired. The inspiration of the Bible can be defined as a direct intervention of God in the lives of human authors of the Bible. These, without giving up their personality or their personal style of writing, have composed and transcribed without error God's revelation to men, on the documents which constitute the original manuscripts autographs. Inspiration means that the Holy Spirit of God guided the human authors in the writing of Scripture so that what they wrote was precisely what God wanted them to write. When you analyze the doctrine of inspiration, drawing forth the essential elements, you find seven key factors:

An origin and a divine causality.

A human factor.

A written expression.

A total and complete inspiration of the Scriptures, and not only partial.

A perfect inspiration of the only autograph manuscripts, that is to say, documents drawn up initially by the authors

Absolutely true character of the Scriptures, because of their divine inspiration.

Final and exclusive authority of Scripture, because of their inspiration and their veracity.

Description and Analysis

When you say that the Bible is inspired, you are referring to the fact that God divinely influenced the human authors of Scripture so that what they have written is His own Word.

In some respects the doctrine of the divine inspiration of Scripture is more important than all the other doctrines. Any other doctrine and each instruction in piety and devotion come from Scripture. Without the Scriptures we cannot know God and Jesus Christ whom He has sent, which is life eternal. Everything that God reveals Himself in Christ is there. Without the Scriptures we cannot know how to please God the Scripture is our only guide to holiness. If Scripture is the inspired Word of God, we lose everything. This doctrine of inspiration is taught in II Timothy 3:15-17. Here God says that His Word is all "God-breathed" (the word “inspired by God” is a translation from a single Greek word that literally means "God-From-blown"). This is a very extraordinary to say that Scripture is the work of the Spirit of God ("breath" and "Spirit" are the same word in Greek), and that Scripture is therefore the same word spoken by the mouth of God.

Since Scripture is the breath of God, it must be perfect and without error. Speaking against the Scripture is speaking against God Himself. When we read the Bible, we hear the sweet voice and taste the sweet breath of the One whose lips are "like lilies, dropping sweet smelling myrrh" (Song of Songs 5:13). Who then dares to be critical of it?
