Introduction

The system of criminal justice in our society serves as a measure for promoting public safety and addressing crime. The basic purpose of the criminal justice system is to eliminate, prevent or respond to the crime, identify criminal, and supervise the punishment or rehabilitation of offenders committing crimes. Another primary purpose of the criminal justice system is to protect the civil rights and provide justice to the citizens of United Sates. The First, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, and Fourteenth amendments have been reflected in the reports prepared by James Madison supplements containing guarantees rights to freedom of religion, speech and press, freedom of assembly, right to keep and bear arms for security of person and home, to the fair administration of justice and the introduction of jury trials. There is a strong relationship between these parts of Bills of rights and the administration of justice and security. Over the years, the amendments presented in the Bills of right served as a basis for regulating law and justice system in United States. The constitution regarding the administration of justice provides guide lines to federal, state and local authorities, for effective functioning of Criminal justice system in United States. These have not only standardized the Criminal Justice system but also strengthen the civil rights of the citizens. The core purpose of the criminal justice system is to protect the civil rights and provide justice to the citizens of United Sates. The Criminal justice system of United States is made up of different agencies that work in an inter-related manner to provide safety, security, and justice to the citizens. Following are various sectors of U.S criminal justice system (Beckett, 1997):

Law enforcement Agencies.

Private Security Institutions.

Law enforcement Agencies

In the last two decades, especially in United Sates, organized crime has grown more complex, posing evolving challenges for U.S. federal law enforcement. This is largely because these criminals have transformed their operations in ways that broaden their reach and make it harder for law enforcement to define and combat the threat they pose. Globalization and technological innovation have not only impacted legitimate commerce, but they have simultaneously revolutionized crime. The role and objectives of Law enforcement agencies has also magnified with the transformation in crimes. The primary purpose of law enforcement agency is to maintain public order and security of citizens and subject to the orders of their leaders. Its administration can be centralized at the national level or decentralized, with local police forces largely autonomous.

Most federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies are quasi-military organizations, whose main duty is to deter and investigate crimes against persons or affecting public order and the arrest of suspects and notify authorities.
