Abstract

Over the past decades, there has been a substantial change in organizational structures to perform business. All organizations such as, government entities, private corporations, educational institutes and non-profit organizations are approaching new ways to developing high performance working. High performance working systems are based upon team-work approaches to achieve a mutual objective. The traditional hierarchical work management systems are of no importance anymore. Team-work approach to developing high performance working systems offers numerous benefits. It allows augmented connection, amplified vision, empowerment of employees and value-added work practices and performances, besides others.

Background

The importance of developing high performance working system is critical to the survival and success of any organization, operating in this era. The topic of my individual paper will be: Developing high performance working. The importance of developing high performance working can be better analysed through discussing the advantages it offers, to an organization. High performance working allows achieving company goals and objectives effectively and efficiently. The other potential benefits attached to developing high performance working are evolving effective goals and objectives, improving communication among employees, managing conflicts efficiently, facilitating fruitful meetings, simplifying roles and duties, demonstrating effective leadership and providing growth opportunities to the employees.

In this briefing paper, I shall be discussing the key findings of developing high performance working by explaining my own views and assumptions regarding the topic. Further, I shall be examining the development of high performance in areas such as: performance appraisals, feedback from employees, training/learning and development of employees and compensation and benefits. Next, I shall be exploring the facts, beliefs and conclusions of different researchers by exploring various journals, articles and researches on developing high performance working. I believe that researching on the above issues would help me to explore the topic more deeply and the study of real organizations would enable me to understand the real practices involved in developing high performance working.

The briefing paper will also provide the structure and introduction of the final individual paper. Lastly, this paper provides the evaluation and assessment of my progress in achieving the assessment criteria for this briefing paper.

Purpose of the Briefing Paper

The purpose of this assignment is to provide a properly referenced briefing paper in order to approach the individual paper. The briefing paper shall cover the analyses and explorations from research findings on the topic of the final individual paper, by providing evidence-based arguments of the researches. The topic of individual paper requires, presenting a critical analysis of the key issues HR managers faces with reference to developing high performance working, and how could the HR managers address the issues mentioned in this briefing paper.
