Introduction

This paper is based on the Burma or Myanmar and focuses on different disorders that country is facing. Burma or Myanmar, Burma, its official name Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Burmese, formerly Union of Burma, and Union of Myanmar, is a country in Southeast Asia mainland with a common border with Bangladesh, the Indian, the Chinese, the Laos and Thailand. It is bordered by the Andaman Sea to the south and the Bay of Bengal to the southwest, with about 2,000 kilometers of coastline in total.

The country is since 1962 after a succession of military dictatorships. From 1988 to 2011, Burma was officially ruled by a military junta, considered one of the worst dictatorships on the planet. The junta has officially been replaced in 2011 to civilian rule led by one of its former members, but the weight of the military remains dominant in practice. The United States and the European Union still impose sanctions on the country to punish violations of human rights.

The country became independent from the United Kingdom on 4 January 1948 with the official name in English Burma, in long form Union of Burma. The official name of Burma is Myanmar, Myanmah or Bama, as the register of language used: designate both historically ethnic Burmese, but Myanmar is literary, while Bama or Bamar are more familiar. It's just that the English Bamar Burma and French Burma.

The word Myanmar, whose first record dates back to King Kyanzittha in 1102, refers to the mythical ancient inhabitants of the country and not only to the Burmese ethnic group. More exactly, Ma Myan means the wonderland created by these "spirits, mythical inhabitants" (Bya Ma). With this name and use the word "Union", the multi-ethnic state is emphasized.

The country became the Socialist Republic of Union of Burma on 4 January 1974, before returning to the Union of Burma on 23 September 1988. On 18 June 1989, the official English name was changed to Union of Myanmar by the dictatorial power of the generals, but this controversial change is not recognized by the political opposition and several English-speaking countries, or by a neighbor such as Thailand.

October 21, 2010, the military junta changed the name to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, and the flag and national anthem. Burma shares land borders with China (2185 km), with Thailand (1800 km), with India (1463 km), with Laos (235 km), and finally with Bangladesh (193 km) for a total of 5876 km. Burma is the largest state of the Southeast Asian mainland. It comprises a long central plain, where most of the population and its widest part do not exceed 960 km. This plain is bordered by mountain areas, and to the west, the chain of Arakan.
