Burrowing Owls(Athene cunicularia) belongs to the Kingdom of Animalia, is a small owl with log legs, and is the only bird of prey or Raptor that nests underground in a wide range of habitat consisting of agricultural areas, rangelands, grasslands, deserts, low and clear vegetation. Burrowing owls utilize burrows dug by ground squirrels, badgers, and other fossorial (burrowing) mammals and will readily nest in man- made underground burrows.
