Amnesty International, commonly known as Amnesty or AI is a nongovernmental organization (NGO) organization working for human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted in 1948 and other international treaties as the International Covenants on Human Rights are recognized and respected (amnesty.org).

Amnesty works in the industry to draw attention of society on human rights abuses and campaigns for compliance with international law.

BP is one of the largest vertically integrated oil and gas companies in the world. The company's operations primarily include the exploration and production of gas and crude oil, as well as the marketing and trading of natural gas, power, and natural gas liquids. BP is headquartered in London, the UK and employs about 79,700 people (bp.com).

BP is one of the world's largest oil and gas companies. It has presence in more than 80 countries. The company has well established operations in Europe, the US, Canada, Russia, South America, Australasia, Asia, and parts of Africa.

BP operates through three reportable business segments: exploration and production; refining and marketing; and other businesses and corporate. The exploration and production segment is engaged in the following activities: oil and natural gas exploration, field development, and production; midstream transportation, storage, and processing; and the marketing and trading of natural gas, including liquefied natural gas (LNG), together with power and natural gas liquids (NGLs) (bp.com).

The company meets the objectives of its stakeholders with constantly reviewing their rights and responsibilities. For employees, BP has proper appraisal system with which it identifies that its employees are satisfied. In addition, vendors and suppliers are managed with respect to their work that the supplied raw material is in accordance with the terms and conditions agreed with them before the delivery of materials. Other stakeholders include its partners, local communities, shareholders, and customers of BP. The company is responsible for all of them (Bamberg 2000).
