This section explains that basically chaplaincy is the services of traditional church settings given in places like hospitals where patients and clients are linked with God.

This section also gives a brief history of the chaplaincy services beginning in America. This section also explains different types of chaplains and their roles. This sub-section has discussed chaplain's services in military, hospital and healthcare, jail and prison, fire and police, retirement centre, industrial and campus. The chaplains are responsible to deliver caring relationships to their patients and clients within the healthcare and hospital settings.

The services of the chaplains can be provided on full-time or part-time basis. They can be compensated through different ways such as separate funding, church or contracting organization.
