Introduction

Management style is reflected in what the manager encourages staff methods to proactive and creative execution of his responsibilities as monitor's performance of subordinates. Style, in the first place, is relations developing between managers and subordinates. The complexity and diversity of these relationships determine the high variability of specific leadership styles that can be classified according to various criteria. Thus we need to examine the case of “Applied Research Technology, Global Innovation's Challenges”, where the key focus is on the employee Peter Vayas, whose the General Manger of the filtration Unit of Applied Research technology (ART), the Cynthia Jackson who was appointed as vice president of the Water Management Division. Both were giving certain task and the case study analysis different leadership styles adapted by James.

Leadership style in Case study

As we have already discussed above about various leaderships styles, Mr Jackson has a very a distinct leadership style which will be discussed thoroughly below. In the case study, there are several instances where Jackson has displayed a bureaucratic leadership style where he has shown that he follows a bureaucratic leadership style as he takes in the opinion of others. He also follows a democratic leadership style as it has been displayed in the last paragraph of the case study in which he kept a close watch on Vayas. This will be thoroughly discussed below

Peter Vyas and His Leadership Style

In the case study, it was shown that Vyas has a democratic kind of attitude towards his employees, as he remained focused on the decision he had taken and tried his best to convince other members about starting projects. Now it is important to identify the democratic leadership style. After Vyas had been assigned certain project, he dedicatedly focused on his priorities and with collective analysis he was able to finish his assigned task in the given time period although they faces many challenges but the team was well aware of their targets, and they had a complete guidance from their team leader Peter Vyas.

Democratic leadership

The intervention of democratic style allows the child to express his needs or disagreement or make its own solution to a problem or conflict. The child learns to express their needs and negotiate a solution acceptable to all.

Oriented leadership style on subordinates close to a democratic, improves performance, because it gives room creativity of people, increases their satisfaction, is attractive. Its use reduces absenteeism, injuries, and turnover, creates higher morale, improves relationships and relationships in a team of subordinates to leadership (Chemers, 2009).

Democratic: consultative and participatory
