A1: In my own personal opinion the three skills which were lacking in the aforementioned care study were organizational skills, leadership skills and team building skills. Focusing on the team building skill first it is a fact that effective communications along with a sense of sincere interest in the growth of the members of team along with a sense of commitment to the project is required (Kerzner, 2009, pg 149).

The current scenario, the employees were not functioning like a team, they were doing what they wished, when they wished and had no concern about the rest of the rest, the project or the project manager. In the current scenario the employees did not have any respect for their project manager, Tim Aston and were reluctant to change their established patterns of work which was what the director Phil Davies said to him. The director it would appear was completely useless as he only said that in a project work environment, the employees were of the belief that their personal self had priority over the project and that is how project organizations operate (Kerzner, 2009, pg. 294). To create a successful team, any leader would require a lot of support from the top of the system that is the leaders, down to the employees. Phil however, is passive aggressive and behaves in a manner which confirms that the actions of the workers were justified, meaning that wasn't likely to receive any help from his superiors.

Second issue, Tim lacked leadership skills. Tim was unable to resolve the problems which he was encountering with his team, this is evidence of the lacking skills. Any sound leader would have held a meeting the first day he was assigned the role of the manager and laid ...
