Abstract

The objective of this paper is to enlighten and explore child obesity through in-depth analysis. The core objective of this paper is to analyze different dimensions and factors influencing child obesity and “the inclination of obesity in the United States”. The research also analyzes several hazardous impacts of obesity in children and reveals how obesity deteriorates the self-esteem of children. Finally the research different forms of diagnosis for obesity and provides a contemporary dimension for the future studies.

Introduction

Childhood obesity is a subject much discussed across the globe and rightly so, because the number of obese children all over the world has increased steadily over the past decade. In the last twenty years, the prevalence of obesity in children has risen sharply, especially in more developed countries. The increase is explained primarily by the poor food intake and sedentary lifestyles, but also because of other medical reasons which have to be diagnosed, but is often ignored by people (Lloyd, 2006). The importance of proper diet and psychological treatment in this regard is very important. Obesity in children is so prevalent that one might almost speak of an epidemic. It is estimated that today, in many countries, one in ten children is obese at the age of 10 years.

In this study initially we will discuss the when a child can be termed as fat, and why do some children, of the same age, same sex, same activity levels, same eating habits, and same family, put on weight, whereas their siblings do not? The study finally will also discuss the factors that cause obesity among child. This topic is important to be discussed as it has been observed that in U.S. the rate of Childhood obesity in increasing day by day and its awareness has become vital information that should be transmitted (Lloyd, 2006).

Discussion

If one child is larger than another child of his same age, is not the only explanation obesity, however, childhood obesity is a state where surplus body fat negatively influences a child's health.

Why do some children, of the same age, same sex, same activity levels, same eating habits, and same family, put on weight, whereas their siblings do not?

If the adversity of childhood obesity is accepted and changed, initially it is vital to address the causes for its existence. This will provide the ordered way to advance about changing the problem. Many children become obese because of the different factors. The poor diet is the foremost component, which is mostly initiated by the poor food that is accessible in today's schools and restaurants.
