The American Medical Association defines child sexual abuse as "the engagement of a child in sexual activities for which the child is developmentally unprepared and cannot give informed consented”. Children who have been a victim of sexual or physical abuse may result with significant problems such as emotional instability, depression and a tendency to be aggressive or violent with others.
