CHAPTER NO 1: INTRODUCTION

The ancient culture of China is one of its greatest virtues tourism. However, for the western tourist ancient Chinese culture is as dazzling as the country's current daily life. So it is difficult to cover everything in one trip as pretty much everything you see in China is interesting. For example, Chinese food, Chinese cuisine known around the world and many of the outbound tourists are accustomed to going to restaurants that prepare this meal or order it at home. Arriving in China and the first course served, no matter how common it is; it will be a special experience for the outbound tourists and so will happen all over their vacation. In other words, China is intense the visitor immersed in a quasi-fantasy world, the five senses become saturated and the holidays become a dense experience pleasure. Furthermore, Tourism is the world's largest industry and according to UN World Travel Organization (UNWTO), more and more people travel all around the world. It is impossible to travel around the country in one holiday trip unless you consider devoting several months (Shley, Boyd and Goodwin, 2000, pp. 1-12). It is important for the outbound tourists to choose between two or three cities to visit and some monument or building out of this particular route. Generally, outbound tourists in China choose to Beijing (the capital), Shanghai and Xi'an as key destinations and add any city or tourist destination if they have plenty of time.

Research Topic

The purpose of the research is to study the behaviour of Chinese outbound tourists.

Purpose of Research

In every piece of research, there are always unavoidable weaknesses and limitations that accompany it. The time and financial, budget constraint will have had an impact on the primary data collection. The sample selection only focused on Internet users of those have an Email account but may not represent the whole Chinese people's outbound travelling, as some travellers may not use Internet. Furthermore, respondents were asked to help answer the questionnaire by email only. Many of the respondents were suspicious to answer the questions especial a question relating to their personal information.

Objectives of Study

The objective of the study is to work on the of the Chinese outbound tourist behaviour while travelling abroad, in addition to this, this study will focus on the following key objectives that include;

1. To identify the main factors that influence consumer behaviour of Chinese outbound tourists, while promoting the China.

2. To define the needs of outbound tourist, also to examine the product quality in order to manage the effective marketing strategies.

3. To study the socioeconomic and demographic features and trip-related characteristics of the Chinese outbound tourists.
