Case Intro

Rosie Hill employed Ronnie Martin to install a new boiler system at her home. The boiler installed by Ronnie Martins never worked. The boiler leaked, shortly after being installed, causing substantial damage to the kitchen ceiling. The ceiling had to be replaced.

The cost of the replacement was £2,000. There were additional labour cost of £800 for installing the new boiler and the replacement ceiling cost a further £1,000. Rosie insurance company is refusing to pay for the replacement boiler as they contend that the damage was caused by poor workmanship when installing the boiler. Rosie would like to bring claim against Ronnie Martin for the cost of the damage caused by the flood. Advice Rosie Hill on any potential claim she may have against Ronnie.
