Creation of Cocaine Drug

Cocaine is made from a special kind of white powder that comes from the leaves of South Africa coca plant. It is a stimulant kind of drug as it gives a temporary feeling of energy and power, and soon leaves the user in very poor health state. Beside South African coca plants, it is also found in other parts of the world too. Cocaine can be harvested four to six times a year. The coca plant is resistant to diseases. It does not need any irrigation too (Cohen, M. E., & Kegel, J. G, 2002).

Coca leaves are taken out from plant usually, it is crushed chopped and mixed with alcohol, gasoline and other solvents that would separate cocaine from leaves. The result is an unpurified form of cocaine. It is heated to remove the waxy material. The next step is to isolate the cocaine alkaloids from the liquid.

It is important for any drug going inside the body to get dissolved with water otherwise it may find it difficult to circulate in all parts of the body. Crack and freebase cocaine cannot be injected in the human body so they are usually smoked from a pipe or burnt with tobacco or marijuana like cigarette (Whitten, 2007).
