Cold War

What is Cold War?

Cold War is the term used to designate the political conflict, ideological, and military weapons that pitted the two great powers that were at the forefront of the global race after the Second World War (1939-1945). Being led by the two titanic blocks leading the world was a clash of great extent, in space (occupations and coups in Eastern Europe, wars in China, Vietnam, etc). A high voltage (1947-1935) with two keys: Berlin (1947) and Korea (1950-53).

The end of nuclear monopoly by the United States. A peaceful coexistence with some conflicts Cuban Missile (1962) and Vietnam (1968-1975).

The rise of Reagan to the presidency of the United States brought the last outbreak of the Cold War. The rise of Gorbachev (1985) and the dissolution of the Soviet bloc meant the end of the Cold War.
