It is a very widely discussed issue that wether the atheletes at school or college level shall get the payment or not. If we think realistically the athelete is exerting his or her energy and time. Atheletes need nutrition and proper trainings to keep themselves fit and healthy. Moreover they are the brands for the institutions on many arenas.Some people side with the athletes, saying college sports is a tough business and, like professional athletes, who deserve some sort of payment to play. Others, like me, believe otherwise. With scholarship opportunities, not a right but a privilege for athletes to compete at the college level, taking into account that not all college sports to generate income, not college athletes should be paid to compete in athletics (Selby, 2009).

It is advocated several times that the athelet must receive some amount for his own expenses.When the athlete is officially recognized as a member of the Eskimo, it will be registered under as "student athlete" in the computer system of SAAS. So every time the athlete passes the turnstile of the reception station or the gym, the Sports Pavilion, it will possess his student card, which is a chip that will give access to facilities.

In early summer 1997, the basketball program at the University of Michigan was accused of paying its athletes a salary. According to rumours, the Michigan coach Steve Fisher, was associated with the promoter, Eddie Martin, who was known to pay recruits and athletes from Michigan.
