Introduction

Communication is an essential leadership skill that all administrators must master in order to lead organizations. Communication is a process that involves encoding, message transmittal, decoding based on knowledge, experience, values, and prior observations to decipher meaning, and feedback. Communication is often represented symbolically because of the complexity involved in adequately addressing all components of communication.

Discussion

In every organization and business, we deal with two types of information flow, formal and informal. All communication paths within the organization is the result of overlap between the two sorts of communication. Communication is the responsibility of each employee of the institution. All participate in it from lower to upper management. Effective communication with employees, customers, shareholders, community neighbors and other stakeholders is essential for the company. Relationships with people are set to communicate effectively with them, to achieve the desired results (Erickson, 2011).

Models of Effective Communication

There is various communication approaches followed in many organizations. In fact, there are several organizations these days which depends on technology for communicating with employees. It usually involves the usage of emails, telephonic conversation and even video conferencing in numerous occasions. Then there are few organizations, which rely on, oral communication in the form of meetings that involve facing to face communication. This is usually done on one on one basis, and, sometimes the group meeting is held to discuss important issues taking place in the organization. It all depends on the preference of the senior management in the organization that decides to enforce the communication medium to be utilized by the employees working in the company (Gibson, 1991). Therefore, it is obvious that various communication approaches are followed in the organization.

Communication is essentially an HR tool. This renewed interest in internal communications in order to remobilize its employees is rather surprising since there is already several years a real degradation of most of the criteria related to the professional environment.

The Barriers to Effective Interpersonal Interactions

With the global business operations, the need for diversity and communication is widespread. As this need is ever-increasing, so are the communication barriers related to the culture. The barriers are defined as problems that arise in the interaction process, preventing him or reduce its effectiveness.
