Hardware is no longer the major obstacle to widespread use of wireless information systems. This is because number of different systems available for connecting. I will be discussing 3 of these, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G.

Standard Wi-Fi (wireless fidelity) is based on 802.11 specifications and is currently most common standard for wireless home and small office networks. Wi-Fi is ideal for small business and wireless home networks with an indoor range of 150 meters and an outdoor range of 300 feet. In the simple network, network signal is placed in home and office via the modem, router and point / access distributes signal. There are four common versions of 802.11, each with its own advantages and disadvantages.
