Negative impact of Internet chatting on teenage girls and their families

Introduction

The film “Trust” was released in the year 2010 directed by David Schwimmer and based on the screenplay by Andy Bellin and Robert Festinger. Other characters played by Clive Owen, Catherine Keener and Liana Liberto. The film is based on a minor girl who is 14 years old kid, becomes victim of sexual abuse by her internet boyfriend with whom she talked for months on online chat room and then on phone.

The story is based on the current internet chatting issues and sex crime with underage teen girls. The film entails many social conflicts and the implication of law enforcement in sex crime with the minors. The conflict arises when a girl didn't realized what happened to her actually and her parents kept reminding her that she has committed crime. The whole family gets ruined because of this tragedy in the family. The story is about the sex offenders who used innocent and underage girls and have chat with them for the primary purpose of sex.

Story telling

The story revolves around a suburban family who is well educated and respected family lives in Chicago. “What took her family years to build, a stranger stole in an instant”. Annie Cameron (Liana Liberato) is a teenage girl, an innocent child and a member of a volleyball team lives with her parents (Will and Lynn Cameron), elder brother and a little sister in Chicago. Her father gives her a laptop as a birthday present which she used for Internet chatting. She met a guy, Charlie, on teen chat room who had been lying to her about his age. Initially, he told her that he is 16 years old boy, then 25 and when they finally met at a mall she found out that he is actually in his mid or late thirties. When she saw him she felt uncomfortable but he reassured her by saying that he loves her and she believed him. After having ice cream with him, he took her to motel where he seduced her and compels her to have sex with him and had secretly videoed it too.

On the other hand her best friend saw her with Charlie at a mall and the next day she reported it to school authorities and her parents that she had been sexually abused by an old man. The FBI got involved and she seemed to cooperate with their investigations. But she wasn't comfortable with this as she still believed in that guy and told her parents that she had not been raped by him. Her parents strictly asked her not to contact him. She had been told by her psychologist that she is being raped by an old man but she started hating her family and their ongoing investigations which broke her relationship with Charlie.
