Introduction

This part of the paper will describe briefly the occurrence of conflicts in corporate environment and their significant impact on the organization. Conflict management has also become a specialized field; moreover, there are several approaches that have been constructed with the passage of time to cope with the concerns of conflict management. There are several reasons behind the occurrence of conflict in the workplace (Augsburger, 1992, 88-103). The occurrence of conflict in the workplace can be realized due to several factors influencing conflict inside an organization. These factors can be caused through the brainstorming and idea generations process; however, the conflicts inside an organization can be constructive of destructive in nature. This is caused by the divergence of interests, ethics and value orientations. Conflict arises due to mismatch of formal organizational principles and the actual behaviour of team members.

The Occurrence of Conflict in Corporate Environment

This part of the presentation will focus upon the occurrence of conflict in corporate environment and the importance of it to be recognized by the top hierarchy of management for effective construction of strategy to resolve it. Conflicts are a certain part of human relationships. Conflicts can arise when different views and concerns that seems incompatible (Calvin, 1996, 38-51). Therefore, instead of waiting they disappear and do arise-more, one can resolve them more easily (Collins, O'Rourke, 2008, 89-96). There are several conceptions regarding the conflicts that take place in organizations. Some consider conflicts as healthy as they occur due to brainstorming process which is constructive for organization. However, some researchers assert that conflicts have negative impact on organization's productivity as it deteriorates employees' capacity and efficiency that can result in diminished organizational productivity, compromised customer service and absenteeism. In addition, the conflicts in workplace can also enhance the stress and turnover of the organization (Choi, Dickson, 2010, 77-106).

Proposed Plan for Conflict Resolution

In order to achieve a competitive edge in the era of globalization, an organization needs to survive in intense competition. This is the core reason due to which the organizations have started to set targets for their employee. In addition, the organizations have eliminated the concept of individual targets and formulated work groups that are responsible for achieving the goals through accomplishment of the assigned tasks. There are several reasons for conflicts to take place in organizations. The work groups interact with each other in order to achieve their targets and this interaction accompanies conflicts due to brainstorming or due to ego concerns (Collins, O'Rourke, 2008, 89-96). This reveals that the main parties that were involved in the conflict are mostly the teams and group members.

This part of the presentation will focus on the plan that is proposed after analyzing the conflicting situation in an organization. This part of the presentation describes diverse strategies that can be recommended for conflict resolution.
