Counseling children and Adolescents through bible

Introduction

Youth, adolescent, young people, teens, kids ,child , children, no matter what they're called, their the most popular age group today. They've become the focus of both the world and the Church as both try to capture their attention—and their soul. There was a time when being elderly was looked up to by the public, but long gone are those days when now youth are what make and break the ultra modern culture. TV, iPods, radio, and many other forms of mass media are directed at them all just for ”entertainment”. But with all this amusement technology being handed to our Children, is everything presented as innocent as stated? In the United States, a large percentage of crimes accounted for are by young people. What actually is being promoted?  Wanton sex is one, the basis for many sexual wrongs done in real life.  Violence is another, as most scenes and songs present it as the only way to solve dilemmas.  Profanity outright and consistently is being used, making it more and more acceptable to our youth. But that is not all.  Drug use and alcoholism are also being promoted frequently.  It is no wondering that after all these demeaning (degrading) influences; our children are suddenly committing these wide varieties of lawbreaking crimes.

With so many prevalent evils, counseling children and adolescent becomes impertinent, and which is the best but the Christian way of counseling.

Biblical Counseling

The benefits of biblical counseling relate to our definition of biblical counseling. Biblical counseling will help children and adolescents to face their suffering face-to-face with God. Biblical counseling sustains them so they know that its normal to hurt, and it brings Gods healing to you so that you know that its possible to hope1.

Biblical counsel, based as it is on reproof, correction, and training in righteousness will never achieve the popularity of the many, blame-shifting psychological theories. Biblical counsel, however, does have one major advantage: “it is based on the truth.” Man is not basically good in spite of what the psychologists tell us. Just a couple of weeks ago a TV documentary (Prime Time Live) showed secretly filmed footage of some Junior High classes in a public school. It showed hopelessly frustrated teachers futilely trying to get students to sit down and listen. The class rooms and hallways were completely out of control, ruled by rebellious students with no respect for authority nor apparent desire to learn. The principal of the school said he planned to resign, deeming the situation hopeless. This was not a ghetto school, it was in Colorado. I was shocked to see how far things have come. The fruits of two decades of lies in education and counseling are now becoming ripe. We have trained a generation of children under the lie that man is essentially good, and that if left to himself in a nice environment, he will do the right thing. Punitive justice, parental and adult educational authority, the need for strict discipline, and all other “traditional” approaches ...
