Currently in 2011, Vietnam embassies are located in Washington D, a court consulate in San Francisco (the state of California) and one in Houston (the state of Texas). This brings us to state that currently the relations between two countries are on a good note. As per year 2011, it can be easily stated that they maintain a friendly as well as a healthy relationship. It seemed that the Vietnam government, who clung to communism even in terms of name, finally has forgotten the bitter struggle against the United States. They now look for reintroduced Vietnam diplomatic relations with the United States, and recover their trade and economic relations. (Spence, 2011)

Notably, the two countries have also signed an agreement that formally ending bilateral negotiations between Vietnam and the United States on Vietnam joining the World Trade Organization (WTO). This has recently opened a new period or new stage of economic relations between them. (Gia, 2010)
