Discussion

The painting is is the ideal way to get beautifully blended colors (such as your delicate touch of green in the snow beneath the trees), but one also needs to be very disciplined about using a clean brush to get pure color (as you've done with the autumnal colors in your painting). I can see why you had this painting framed!. Rather than idealizing the peasant man or ignoring him entirely, Rose Khoja portrays the peasant as a stocky, well-built young man wearing simple, practical peasant clothing.

To what extent does the work confirm that the media is the message? In what ways is this axiom contradicted by your selected work?

Rose's paintings break the rules which were forced upon her by Iranian government in her paintings capturing the conflict between the values of her Persian heritage and those of her adopted country. She passes the boundaries, methods, discussion, and disputation on art through a complete departure of the mind toward an imagery world, visionary and self-conscience to attribute to the freedom which ...
