Introduction

Over the past three years, LaGuardia Community College has emerged as a national leader in the fast-growing area of electronic student portfolios, or “ePortfolios.” Linking innovative pedagogy with digital expertise and new thinking about assessment, LaGuardia's ePortfolio start is directed by learned college , employed in collaboration with employees from Academic Affairs, Information Technology, and Enrollment Management and Student Development. Coordinated by the Center for Teaching and Learning and recognised as a key main concern in the Collegewide Strategic Plan, LaGuardia's work with ePortfolio has drawn acclaim over CUNY and from such assemblies as the Association of American Colleges & Universities and the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. The ePortfolio provides LaGuardia students with a device for assembling their academic work and their reflections on their discovering, and for distributing their portfolios on the World Wide Web.
