Concise Summary of the Content

The Anxiety Cure is a book written by Archibald Hart in 2001. This book works as an apparatus to convey guidance to the people who are suffering from Anxiety and the people involved in this profession (Hart, 2001). This book offers processes that incline people to move from an anxiety-ridden life. According to him, anxiety is not related to the presence of something, but it is actually related to the absence of some essential thing. These objects are called neurotransmitters. Neurotransmitters are endogenous biochemical substances, through which the information from one nerve cell passes to another via the contact point of the nerve cells (Kazdin, 2000). In the synapses, incoming electrical impulses (action potentials induce) the distribution of chemical messengers from their locations.

There are two types of neurotransmitters. The first sort of neurotransmitter is called happy transmitters that are known as biogenic amine. This group of neurotransmitter includes serotonin, dopamine, noradrenalin, and chunk of natural tranquilizer that are present in brain in abundance. The second sort of neurotransmitters is sad messengers. This group includes group of enzymes, which negatively affects the happy messenger in the brain. This group also includes cortisol.

The scenario of anxiety is strengthened when there is an imbalance between the sad and happy messenger. This imbalance is caused by either the use of some substances like drugs, alcohol or caffeine (Weiner & Freedheim, 2003). The second cause of this imbalance is a caused by the genes. Hart has suggested various medications for the treatment of this imbalance. He believes that a myriad of the Christians consider the use of medications for this purpose incline negative results.
