Data Mining and E-Business

Introduction

Data mining is the extraction of the related information with respect of the industry usage that can be predicted from the databases. It is one of the most powerful technology that has the potential to be used by the companies to assist them focusing on the information that is important for them to use, they can find the related information in their data warehouse (Goel, pp. 3-5). Data mining has several tools that help and assists the companies to predict the data for their future use, also allow them to find the future trends and behavior to follow for the betterment of the business's future. It allows the business to make use of the data in order to make down to business, and knowledge and technology-driven decision (Koperski, pp. 846).It moved through the analysis of the past event and happenings that would be previously provided by the tools of decision support system (Joyce, pp. 198-214).

The techniques of data mining can also be used and implemented in the software's that already exists in organizations and all the platform of the hardware that can be used to enhance the value of the information sources that already exists, and can be integrated with the new and innovative products and systems.

The Stepping Stones of Data Mining

The techniques of the data mining are the outcome of the long method that is linked with many researches and new innovative product development. The starting point of the data mining process began when in the history of business the first data was stored on the computers. The applications that are provided to the business, data mining supports them in any cases of the business strategy and decision making, due to the fact that it has been assisted by three main technologies, those are collecting the massive data in consuming less times, secondly, because of the powerful multiprocessor computers they have, and thirdly the algorithms of the data mining (Agrawal, pp. 8).

The algorithm of the data mining symbolizes the techniques that have already been existing since 10 years, but have consistently implemented in the business recently with more mature, reliable and tools that can be understood easily (Carbone, pp. 275- 286). The evolution of data mining from the data of the business to the information delivered to the business has encountered with a new step. For instance, the access of the data is critical to navigate and search for the right piece of information that has needed for the business through the help of the applications, and the capability of storing the data is very critical to data mining (Srikant, pp. 2).

Modeling Procedures Used in Data Mining

Data mining can be visualized as comprising of two phases: Data perfecting that changes free-form data articles into a selected intermediate pattern, and information distillation that deduces patterns ...
