Introduction

Flowchart is usually more efficient to visualize something graphically than to describe in words. It is the essence of what the flow charts provided. The flowcharts explaining a process clearly with symbols and text. Also, get to the gist of the process flow at a glance.

The flowchart presented incorporates the principles of quantitative risk assessment (QRA) for both consequence severity and likelihood of occurrence. The motivation for this work is the integrated protection of people, process equipment, business operation and the natural environment.

Many of the dusts handled in industry are combustible and therefore present an explosion hazard. Frank (2004) provides evidence that dust explosions occur in a wide range of industries and industrial applications involving numerous and varied products such as coal, grain, paper, foodstuffs, metals, rubber, pharmaceuticals, plastics, textiles, etc. It is therefore possible, in theory, to prevent or mitigate a dust explosion by removing one of the sides of the pentagon. In practice, however, a number of different measures are usually adopted to reduce the risk of a dust explosion to a tolerable level.

Process flow

Workflows "workflow" is not managed by themselves. To ensure satisfaction of customer needs, we must be able to control business processes. The first step to manage the workflow is to define the current state of processes through the flowchart. This allows to detect inefficiencies and bottlenecks that will facilitate the identification of areas for process improvement, leading to larger processes diagram.

Professionals in the computer world used them to develop their programming logic. Flow charts are a mainstay for programming processes, however, and with the advent of object-oriented programming and modeling tools, their use for programming is not as relevant.

Most of us have encountered decision trees that narrow the range of possible solutions, based on a number of criteria. The effectiveness of these flows depends on how detailed the variety of problems and solutions that can fit into a diagnostic model true / false.

Selected Scenario

Wilson and McCutcheon (2003) define risk as the possibility of injury, loss or environmental injury created by a hazard, with the significance of risk being a function of the probability (or likelihood) of an unwanted incident and the severity of its consequences.

Identification of dust explosion hazards involves answering questions such as: Can a given material yield dust explosions when dispersed as a cloud in air? and What concentration of airborne dust is needed for an explosion?

The proposed methodology uses fault-tree analysis (FTA) to identify the likelihood or probability of a dust or hybrid-mixture explosion for a given scenario. FTA is an analytical tool that employs deductive reasoning to determine the occurrence of an undesired event by means of a series of and and or logic gates. Fig. 2, drawn with the Relex (Reliability Excellence) software, shows the qualitative use of FTA to depict the previously described explosion pentagon.
