Differences between Male and Female Earnings

Introduction

There is a natural law in physics that opposites always attract each other and there is no better example than man and woman. The debate that has been there for centuries is still alive in the modern world, difference between males and females. Not only in some particular countries in all over the world there is a difference between the wages of men and women. (Hoffnar: 105-115) In fact women are working on same level at which men are working. But due to some circumstances they are avoid to given more salary as men are given. Organization could be profitable or not, in every sector of the country women are receiving fewer amounts as compare to men. No matter they are doctor, engineer, professor and entrepreneur. (Hoffnar: 105-115)

A male chief executive officer of any organization is earning more than 47 % of any female chief executive officer, although the size of the organization is same. Women working on the higher hierarchy of any top organization are paid less although it is the best paying organization no matter women are head of the organizations or clerk. Similar there are differences in the payment at every other position like development director, chief financial officer, chief administrator. (Anderson: 170-171)

There are many unions working in America to reduce the salary inequality facing by women in corporate sectors. These unions are trying to overcome the increasing proportion of salary differences. Not only for salary differences but in some corporations women are under-estimated by their male colleagues, because of it women feels their work overwhelm which is obviously disturbing behavior. Hardly in rare cases like in sales field are women making more than their male colleagues?  There are fewer women at higher positions, but these fewer women also have complaint towards salaries differences. Generally it is estimated that in all the corporate sectors women are paying less than men approximately 24% less but in IT sector situation is quite different. Ratio of difference is lower. In management position they are paying 1.1% less than men which are negligible. But in staff position women are given 1.1% more than men. (Glass: 131-51) The earning gap between men and women has narrowed, but not finished. If we overview from past, in 1979 women earned 60% of the salary men were earning. But in 1996 rate increased, women were 74% of the salary men were earning. If we can also see earning gap if we look at the weekly and hourly salary of men and women. But if we analyze about 50 years in America women earnings have increased by 1.3 percent but men's earnings have increased by 1.1 percent. In future there are chances that this difference could be vanished. But researchers have analyzed that gap has already disappeared because if we measures women skills by men education, experience, skills and their working hours. (Bertrand: 3-21)
