Digital Rights Management

Introduction

A copyright is a legal concept that refers to the rights that authors have over intellectual works. Regulates public to copy and distribute content in order to provide incentives to creators to publish their works. There is a term assigned by government regulation, and once it's expired the works go into the public domain. Digital Rights Management (DRM) is a technology that allows digital content creators to control how and who has access to their products.

Ideally the DRM is completely transparent to the user and manage complex tasks for a computer. The first generation of DRM software is limited simply to control copies. The second generation DRM is designed to control all that's possible with digital content. DRM typically has three objectives: to establish copyright for specific content, manage the distribution of that content, and control what the consumer does with that content once it has been distributed.

Some products give permission over the Internet to prevent the illegal use of content. A typical scenario is:

The user installs the software, your computer contacts a server to obtain verification of licenses permits to install and use a program.

If that computer is the first permit required to install this particular software, the server delivers the key.

If you transfer the software to a friend and it is installed, the server will deny the permit.

Digital Rights Management systems (DRMs) should help to return the broad mass of consumers for paying respect copyrighted material, are by preventing unwanted copies and uses of content, or at least much more difficult.  In addition to this current politically controversial field of application are measures that can be referred to as DRM, also applied in other areas.
