Introduction

The basic purpose behind the study is to review, analyze and criticize the peer reviewed scholarly article titled “A Post Marxist Analysis of State Building using Iraq as a Case Study”. The paper discusses the issue of state building by external forces that have failed to produce good healthy democratic societies and thus these forces have failed in their ultimate objective and aim. The purpose for this failing has different from the accusations that statebuilding is 'too liberal' and locations the execution of generous organizations over the needs of the getting condition, to the recommendation that state building will never work because getting organizations stay too 'backward' to be able to maintain generous democratic organizations. Eventually left to their own gadgets, getting declares would return to their unsuccessful types of government, harmful not only themselves but the community.

This dissertation uses the situation of Iraq, and the work of Chantal Mouffe and Ernesto Laclau in Hegemony and Socialist Technique, to determine the breakdowns of statebuilding. The common disagreement that will be created throughout will be that statebuilding techniques implemented by exterior makes have not in creating a generous democratic hegemonic power and thus have eventually unsuccessful in their aim.

Precision & Clarity

The dissertation`s title is very well constructed and gives a clear view of what the paper will be about, and creates a clear perception about the complete study in the mind of the reader. It is well conceived, thorough title that explains all three issues (State building, Marxism, and Iraq) that are being studied in the research, and also tries to show the relations and draws lines between the three concerns that the paper tries to study. The title briefly but precisely provides the reader information regarding the aims of the study. However, the title of the paper is not so concise when it comes to explaining the research method or methodology used by the researcher in the study. Nonetheless, this information is not so much provided in the title of the paper, but that does not make the title of the research paper a loosely built one. Rather, despite the lacking, the title of the paper is still constructed very effectively and efficiently.

Clarity of the Aims and Objectives

The aims and objectives of the dissertation are clearly constructed and are put together in a concise and precise manner. The dissertation emphasises on each and every research variable, with importance and detail provided to establishing the research question. The dissertation elaborates in explaining each of the research variables in a very clear and concise manner about the important subjects discussed in the paper so that it can be easily comprehended by even a common man.
