What are the various sources of tax money received by your district?

Different sources for receiving tax money for my district includes property, sales, income, corporations, fuel, licenses, tobacco and alcohol. From properties my district receives property tax, sales tax from sales, income tax from individuals, corporate income tax from corporations, motor fuel money, vehicle licenses for vehicles. District also receives a proportion of tax money that government receives. Our district also receives money in the form of federal assistance. In addition to all these states sources of taxes and income our district receives taxes on the use of utility which is provided to the residents of our districts. It also receives income in the form of fees and levies which are applied on various services provided by our district government. Some other sources of income include investment in different financial instruments and gaining interest on them. Bonds are a source of income for the district and tax is also applied on the prize money at different levels (Rampell, 2010).

How are these dollars distributed to each school?

There is a proper channel and method of distribution of this money to the schools in our district. In 1991 a legislature was created to measure financial equity of various districts school. This legislature stated that measure of fairness does not means that every school will receive same amount of money but the distribution of money will solely depend upon the difficulties and problems a school is facing. Not only was this a formula get in order to create harmony among the schools and to give them equality. This formula is based upon the financial need of the schools. First a data is generated which includes the number of students that are enrolled and studying in the school. Then the available share of the district from the state school fund is calculated through a formula. The equity measure that is adopted by this legislature is equal to the resources which a student will use or a particular group of student uses.

In order to complete the goal there are some guiding principles on which the formula work. It includes sharing of funds throughout the states. The districts decide how much and how the money should be allocated to the schools. Funding differences for uncontrollable cost is used to create a different between the funding. Our district gets the same amount on the basis of per student. One of the factors which is kept in mind while distributing the money, to the schools, in our district is quality and type of education a school is giving (School District Demographics System).

Social economic area

As discussed above social economic area is also another important factor in distribution of funds among the schools. Schools with low social economic area will be getting high or large amount of funds while schools in stable social economic area will be receiving less funds compared to the one discussed before.
