Introduction

The DNA know as deoxyribonucleic acid, is actually the hereditary material under Humans and also covering various other living organisms. Thus, it is a fact that almost each cell in the body of the person has similar DNA. Majority of the DNA are found in nucleus cell, whereas the DNA is also located in Mitochondria, that is also known to be mtDNA or mitochondrial DNA.

The use of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) as forensic evidence has become a powerful and controversial issue in criminal law. The development of DNA profiling analysis, popularly known as DNA “fingerprinting,” has been hailed by law enforcement as a way to identify individuals from a small sample of their genetic material, such as blood, hair and semen. Some attorneys and scientists have raised doubts, however, about the accuracy of these tests and the reliability of the laboratories that conduct the tests. Legal challenges have been raised about the admissibility of DNA analysis in criminal trials (Strachan, 2009).

Discussion and Analysis

All fingerprints are unique individuals and do not change throughout our lives. As a result, they play a significant role in solving crimes, as researchers can recognize suspect based on fingerprints, which they left at the crime scene. Latent print technology, also known as latent print examiners are responsible for documenting fingerprints at the crime scene and comparing them with the prints of suspects.

The latent print techniques are studied for identifying the footprints and fingerprints and other similar items at the spot where crime scene had occurred in the hope for identifying the suspect. These are known as the crime scene. DNA does not consist of just one, but two polynucleotide chains. These two long chains are twisted around each other in a double helix, stabilized by hydrogen bonds formed between the facing each other nitrogenous bases its constituent chains.
