Introduction

There are a number of toys available for all ages of children, and millions of new toys are produced each year. The main idea behind a toy is to provide fun activity to a child and toys are considered as an essential element in the development of a child. Parents should make the child learn that how the toy will be used after bringing the toy at home, which will allow the child to learn how to play with the toy. The best way to make the child learn is to supervise him or her.

When the child is three years old, he or she learns the ability to pedal, and he or she has the coordination that is required to use a steering wheel or handlebar. Children at age four and five are more inclined towards vehicles used by older peers. They begin to lose their interest in the kinds of ride-on toys, which are commonly used by younger children, and they prefer bicycles and scooters that are used by older peers. Therefore, the selection of toys should be based on the facts that what are the interests of the child because a child will only learn and develop in this way (Cross, 2001).
