ABSTRACT

In this research study the negative impact of reality shows like x factor on the new artists and music industry has been analyzed. For analyzing the facts and figures, mixed methodology was used. In that methodology interviews were conducted from the famous artists from the music industry and the questionnaires were conducted from the viewers and from the participants. After analysis it can be concluded that for the short term the new artists can get benefits from the reality shows but in long run they will be no where if they do not have real talent and passions, the reality shows are ruining undoubtedly the music industry. These shows are giving any kind of benefit to the music industry.

For the contestants, success is achieving their dream. This is a dream not just of becoming a professional singer, but also of becoming a celebrity through exposure on the show. The contestants follow this lower-class requirement; no matter where in the world they come from, hoping to overcome their initial position in life through talent and exposure. Moreover, the immigrant discourse envisioned an ideally equal America, free from discrimination and intolerance. Without these issues to overcome, everyone, including immigrants, has an identical opportunity to realize the rags-to-riches narrative. The show discourse supported, enhanced, the country's ideology present in x factor.

Career building

The upcoming artists are searching for any ladder that helps them in building their career. Music industry is one of the industries that are progressing with every passing day. At school level many children are now watching reality shows and not only watching them but also try to sing.
