Robert Louis Stevenson is considered one of the brilliant British writer and the "Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" is the legendary tale of dark and light sides of human nature..

"There is in every man two simultaneous, one toward God, the other to Satan."

This quote's duality perfectly reflects the essence of this strange story. In fact, the duality runs through the plot in every direction, both in terms of history at the genus level since the hero lives on the borders of two "I" antipodal, two worlds and the story s' entered the borders of two genres: the detective novel and the fantasy novel. The inner division is present in Jekyll early in the story. The hero feels a duality of existence. He is attracted by both the healthy pleasures that drive as the vice that lies dormant in him. Entering the world of strange, Jekyll and plays with both "me" who are playing as one or the other. He turns to his will sometimes in a perfect doctor or sometimes in a monster that inspires qu'effroi and aversion, the famous Mr. Hyde.

This theme is strange yet close to realism as the only rational explanation remains Jekyll master its discovery. There are various different levels of the strange case of Mr. Hyde and Jekll. It is a story that discusses the concept of evil and good that exist in all human beings (Robinson, 2003, 85). On the other hand if we see it is a story on double standards and hypocrisy of the society. Finally, it can be seen as an interesting study of psychology of a human being that foreshadows those structural personality theories. The strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde the author had skilfully used the images and metaphors from the science for conveying a message that people should accept the complex wholeness of their psychological condition, even when various aspect of complexity proved repulsive to them. The author has also given many different aspects of sociology, morality and psychopathology through the use of indirect and dramatic metaphor and symbolism (Freud, 2008, 53).The very phrase "Jekyll and Hyde" is used to refer to a polarized behavior or sudden mood changes.
