Distillation

Distillation is a thermal separation process for a mixture of several separate, mutually soluble substances. The condition for the application of the method is the different composition of the liquid and the vapor. A necessary but not sufficient condition for this is different boiling points of the components to be separated. Typical applications are the distillation of the burning of alcohol and distilling (the rectification) of oil in the refinery or the production of distilled water.
