Static and Adaptive Systems in E-Learning Languages

Introduction

The emergence of Internet and its widespread use in recent years has led to the emergence of numerous e-learning platforms for distance learning materials from different knowledge areas. One such area is the teaching and learning of languages. Most the contents of these platforms and skills are created by teachers. Thus, there is a possibility that students can contribute their knowledge in e-learning. Most e-learning platforms always behave the same way regardless of where they are implanted. This paper focuses on static and adaptive systems in E-learning languages.

Discussion

E-learning is considered effective when a learner experiences centric adaptive learning. In order to meet the need of adaptive learning, there are many adaptive learning systems which are developed.

Adaptive Web Based Systems

Adaptive web based systems can be used efficiently and effectively in most of the cases, for example in e-Learning, which is an adaptation of the web to the end user or learner or it may be personal navigation. The approach of an adaptive learning aimed to increase the effectiveness of the process of e-learning and the development of ergonomic quality in students of e-learning. In addition, it also presents information on the web in a way which can be considered as the most desirable for any specific user or learner and to acclimatize the overall process to the disabled students (Lex, 2009, pp.261-281).

Objectives of Adaptive Systems

Distributed Content Management:

The system has a common content base, where users can create, update and reuse content in different kinds. The information stored in the system go through different stages, that includes: acquisition, monitoring and finally published, seeking the greatest possible control over this.

Dynamic Behavior of the System:

The system behaves according to the configuration a state machine. This allows adapting the system in different scenarios implementation, in line with the size of the user community.

Search Content:

System in such locations where the base content becomes large, quick access to the information becomes more complicated, although it is categorized and sorted according to certain criteria. The use of a browser provides the user access to information from a set of keywords.

Dictionaries and Speech Synthesis:

Implementation of dictionaries is significant in the system for different active languages. Voice synthesis is performed on any word that the user has the opportunity to hear the corresponding pronunciation.

Multilanguage Interface:

The system use to learn more languages, users of different nationalities who can make use of it, so prerequisite is that the interface is in several languages.

Communication between Users:

The system has a different chat rooms equipped with, depending on the language user want to learn from the other user, with specific tools for communication between people of different languages. Student Motivation:

The system allows students to practice their skills making them small tests for evaluating the acquired knowledge, using games and tests. The registered user has a number of points in each of languages ??created in the system; the user can ...
