Introduction

Edmunds corrugated part and services was established by Larry Edmunds more than two decades ago when his grandfather give a huge amount of loan to start of his own business and also gave him their old farm and barn which was sufficient for their family earning and living (Daft, L, R, 2008)

Edmunds started his factory on his ancestor farm and now currently he is the owner of 50000 square foot factory and its current location is nearer to his old farm. After the success of his business the owner now feels that he has achieved a goal which was looking impossible two years ago and the thing that gives him satisfaction is that he does not have to leave his entire family and feeling of home for work and more that that he has able to give employment to more than hundred people of his hometown (Daft, L, R, 2008).

After looking at what he has able to achieved due to his hard work and struggle gives him the feeling of immense satisfaction and more open then not he has able to gain the respect of several individual, it is an old saying that success never comes alone as it often comes with some problems and that's the company is currently going through (Daft, L, R, 2008).

Issues faced by Edmunds and their Circumstances

Despite of the enormous success the company was slowly and gradually facing several issues and these required urgent action, for instance the most important issue the company is facing is that all his previous hard working employees are now close to retirement and to hire such efficient employees is not an easy task but the management of the firm need to think fast about this issue

The overall performance of the company was satisfied for the owner as the firm has able to maintain 75 percent market share all thanks to its remarkable reputation, honest policy and product quality, but the constant raise in the price of the raw material is a raising concern for the company, further with the current recession in the economy the buying power of the customer has decreased and that has allowed other substitute product to enter in the market, and as a result of that there is a considerable decline in the sales of the company.

Apart from these issues that most important and alarming issue for the company is that majority of the USA paper factories have either left the industry or have excepted the merger policies of the Government, these companies were the premium customer of the company and hence it has greatly affected the sales of the company

All these issues has forced the owner of the company to start considerable thinking and planning as his previous policies are slowly wiping out and if done nothing urgently the company could face a huge loss.
