Educating Students with Hearing Disabilities in Inclusive Settings

Introduction

Every individual in this world has a right to education whether that individual is physically or mentally challenged or lacks the equivalent footing in any manner. This right has been recognized by various bodies all over the world. The present world today tends to treat children with certain disabilities very distinctively. Whereas, there is a need to inject them the feeling of uniformity which will allow them to stand on level playing field with the individuals who are perceived to be normal. Children with the disabilities are taken out of the school and are addressed in a special environment. We as a society need to encourage children with certain disabilities to enroll in school so that every individual can relate him or herself to the society. However, various aids in this context can help facilitate the children with any disability. The class teacher in such a scenario can play major role by equipping the child with any disability with the appropriate tools required to face the challenge. In this even the children with certain disability will receive a quality education (Richard 2010.p.35). However, in the context of this paper the resource based teachers present in school, hearing aids and communication boards at an affordable price can help the children with the hearing disability to compete with other children on the equivalent footings.

However, the learning institutions today tend to face the challenge of providing education with children of certain disabilities in the ...
