Research proposal for determining impact of UK economic model on education system

[Instructor name]

Introduction

This research proposal aims to conduct a research to understand the impact that the funding arrangements have on learning and teaching in the classroom in the 14-16 post-compulsory education system.

The purpose of the study is to acknowledge the impact of the UK economic system on the funding and data problems of the educational system and how it impacts teaching and learning in the classroom.

The scope of the work would include conducting both quantitative and qualitative research. It will aim to make a contribution to the extant literature on the topic with its primary research. The research participants include all those available in the university. Therefore, the age range is between 18-30 for the students and between 18 and 60 for the staff members. The relevant policy document guiding our research is BIS (2010).

Research questions

Our research question is whether the UK economic model is impacting the educational system and affecting the data and funding enslavements to impact the teaching and learning in the classroom.

Sub-questions to be answered within the research include as to what is the impact of current funding regulation on teachers and schools, what is the impact of current funding regulation on students in 14-16 education, and how do these funding conditions affect teaching and learning in the classroom.

The research question directly addresses the issue of the impact of the UK economic system on the educational system. It was found that the students and teachers were not happy with the state of funding affairs recently and complained about having little or no funding opportunities available to them.

The theoretical perspective is that of the critical theory paradigm which states that the idea emerges from the social context, and originates from the practitioner which is built into the theory (Oxford). The research question is directly related to this theoretical framework. The research question also points to the ethical considerations overlooked in the funding legislation which should not overlook the concerns of the affected people. This research question can also be understood in the policy contexts of other funding such as that provided by universities.

Contextual background

This research question arose in the context of the classroom when the teachers and students were not content with the state of available funding. The question will be addressed by conducting research within the school to determine the scope of its impact.

It is already known that both teachers and students are not happy with the state of funding available to them in the 14-16 post-compulsory education. It has been found that subsequent to legislative and policy changes in the funding of schools, the status of education has considerably changed. The courses that are being offered are no longer the same. In addition, the numbers of students and the teachers have also changed drastically subsequent to the enactment of current funding legislation and policy changes by the relevant department. Finally, the students are really feeling the brunt of ...
