Many of the detainees in the facility was taken into custody in one of the airports in the surrounding area and sea ports / or ice or other DHS components. Some of the detainees were transferred from other States. If you need information about detainees, you can call (973) 622-7157 during regular business hours.

The only information you get alien registration number of the detainee. If you need to get in contact with the detainee you must call (973) 622-7866 and leave a full name of the detainee's alien registration number and telephone number where you can be reached. He or she will be given a message.

Conversation with the Press / Media:

The Fund is responsible for protecting the privacy and other rights of detainees and staff members, so interviews will be regulated to ensure the orderly and safe operation of the fund. Usually, a live interview radio and television will not be permitted in the facility.

Correspondence and telephone contacts with the media:

Detainees may correspond with the media and can use the telephone facility at their own expense to call the media.

Commissioner:

Commissioner services available to detainees at this facility. Orders are accepted on Thursdays, and, where possible, delivered on Fridays. Phone cards are also sold Monday through Friday at about 2 pm.

Mail:

Postal allowance was established at public expense to indigent prisoners. Detainees will be allowed to mail a reasonable-mail every week, including five pieces of special correspondence and three parts of the general correspondence. Object as a whole does not limit the amount of correspondence detainees may send at his own expense, except to protect public safety or security and order. All outgoing mail must have a return address with the name of the detainee, alien registration number and full address of the facility clearly written on the envelope.
